18 Months (a month late)!

18 Month Wellness Check Up Stats:

Height: Just under 34" (33 1/2) 85th percentile
Weight: 27 1/2 lbs 55th percentile
Ahead of developement in skills again. Can already name his body parts and can say more then 15 words (which is what you learn between now and 2 years of age usually)

What can I say about my sweet Mason?
* Is Mommy's right hand man... no matter what I am doing he wants to be right there helping me... he picks up his toys, he picks up garbage and puts it in trash, he will help get me things (I can tell him to get some pants and he will), he sweeps, he rakes... he is a big helper
* Went through a hitting stage, but now hits mostly only when you have made him mad or you aren't doing what he thinks you should.. still working on that
* Knows almost all his body parts... just working on arms and I think that is all thats left =)
* Can say TONS of words... my favorite is "Dunno!" and "Pease"
* Is FINALLY starting to sleep well at night! (We got him a nightlight and we turn on Handy Manny at night... works miracles so far!)
* Loves tools and cars and anything with a remote control and music
* Loves his books
* Loves Lights... we are in so much trouble with the Christmas tree!
* Is getting to be really good at minding mom and dad
* Loves to be around other kids

Our little boy is growing so fast! He amazes us everyday!

I had to...

So inappropriate I know but I had to! My 18 month old son went #2 in the potty chair and I was so excited! Now it was a fluke thing... I saw he was in the process so I ran him in there and set him on the chair! =) He is no where near potty trained and I am not even trying! I just got the chair so he can start thinking about the idea, but we aren't ready yet! Although he has done well in trying on his own and he does recognize what it is now...

Handy Manny Halloween

Mason's favorite thing right now is Handy Manny.. he can hear the theme song while in another room and he will run in to dance to the show! It is adorable! So naturally, it only seemed right that that's what he should be for Halloween! At first he hated it cause his hat visor didn't fit right so he wouldn't wear it and the costume just didn't work without that! So Phill went to work and fixed it and then he wore it all night and I thought he looked adorable! He LOVED trick or treating this year with all the kids! He has now been introduced for real to candy and notices our candy jars in the movie room a lot more which isn't too much fun for mom!! =) But it was a BLAST!

Craft Group

As everyone has probably heard.. our Relief Society has cancelled all things such as Craft Group... however, we will still be getting together as friends to make the goods. This month we will be making lots for the Christmas season... wood presents, snowflake garlands... etc. So if you still wanna come just get in touch with me! =)

Craft Group This Tuesday

We are doing craft group this Tuesday (the 20th)! We are gonna make something pretty simple since we are having a crafting enrichment night in a few weeks :) We are going to make the cute spiders that Ashley Hatch made and showed on her blog :) Since I have to create crafts for the enrichment night.. I am burnt out of creative juice and this was too cute!

So.. please bring:

little pumpkins (you can pick em up at Wal-Mart for 78 cents)
black spray paint
glitter
black pipe cleaner
eyes

And please RSVP to let me know you are coming so I have enough stations set up :) You can leave me a comment or give me a call (or text)! :)

Break Mommy's Heart..

This morning was not the best... Mason was playing at a cousin's house and fell and hit his head on the corner of the coffee table, right on the groove of his eye. We rushed him to Community Care and luckily, he did not tear any of his facial muscle so they were able to suture it without needing a plastic surgeon. It was just a freak accident, but wow! Mason was SOOO brave! He hardly cried until we had to wrap him in a sheet to keep him still while they sewed... then he freaked out, but he was still SOOO good! The Dr was WONDERFUL which I was so grateful for as an emotional mother!

Mason doesn't even act like anything happened except occassionally he points to his head and says "owie". We are just so grateful it was not worse and missed his eye! :)

On another, more pleasant, note, Mason turns 18 months old tomorrow! So we will do a fun post on him and all that he has accomplished in a year and a half soon! :)
